White label beard care products: Capitalising on the global growth of beards

Own Brand Beard Products

Own Brand Beard Products

Own Brand Beard Products or private labeling beard care products blog below folks, however, if you are short on time, we have gathered up the main bits and turned it into a short video for you.

How to get your Own Brand Beard Products products is something I’m asked about quite frequently now as we already do it for a few companies, so to save me replying to each email which takes time, I can simply share this blog going forward, which should answer any burning questions. Plus it’s generally nice to share some best practice. And,

To help other local businesses capitalise on the global growth of beards, to give them some pointers on how to collaborate with their local beard care companies which will ultimately lead to new revenue streams for them. I also want to promote the fact that slapping your brand’s name on a product that someone else developed is completely acceptable in today’s society…and very advantageous for many reasons!

Own brand Beard products and how businesses can use (Private Labeling) white labeling to capitalise on the global growth of beards?

It’s a good question, and the short answer is, with great ease. It’s important to point out the decline of clean-shaven men over the years has given birth to a billion-pound beard care industry, and who doesn’t want a slice of that money pie?! This has spurred the rise of small businesses (I’m obviously one of many) that now cater to pampering face forests.

The idea of male beauty went from the clean-shaven boy band look to a more natural, romantic look; hair on the body, beard, and glasses for example. The bearded and rugged looking male is actually very sensitive, and someone who isn’t afraid of taking care of his skin and appearance. That’s not a contradiction in terms. Yes, beards can look unruly to those who shave or dislike them, but it actually requires a great deal of grooming and care, trust me.

It doesn’t matter if you run a retail shop; a hotel, tattooists, a brewery, a unisex salon or a barbershop, for example, I want this blog to inspire you to contact your local beard care company so they can help you tap into a very lucrative market and generate more revenue for you. And please remember…you DO NOT need to have a flock of bearded men in your premises to sell beard care products, their clean shaven boyfriends and husbands, wife’s and girlfriends often shop for them.

Your Own Brand Beard Products – Barbershops and beard care toiletries are among the fastest growing businesses in the UK

Alun Withey, an academic and a self-styled beard historian, says that barbershops and beard care toiletries are among the fastest growing businesses in the UK and they show no sign of slowing down.

Year on year from 2011 to 2016, beard grooming has exploded. Every year people say things like, it’s a fad, it will pass. Beard grooming in some countries including the US is more valuable in terms of toiletries than the shaving industry. If you couple that with the fact beard care toiletries are one of fastest growing sectors in the UK at the moment, folk really need to stop being so short-sighted, wake up and smell the opportunity to get involved.

So what the fudge is white labeling (Private Labeling) and why should I care?

A white label or Private Labeling agreement legally allows you to place your brand name and colours on a product that a trusted local beard care company produces, typically for a fee per item, similar to how wholesale pricing works.

White labeling beard care products allow you to offer products and services without having to spend the time and money on designing and developing them yourself. White labeling is used extensively throughout most industries in fact, from food to business marketing services.

What are the benefits to (Private Labeling) your own brand beard products

  1. White labeling beard care products boosts the visibility of your brand.

If the business you run requires you to offer multiple additional products from third-parties to complement your services, paying for white labeling or Private Labeling as it’s also known as on those products is a great way to promote your brand name without being obvious and pushy, white labeling is all about making your brand stand out and more established, which increases its value further.

  1.   White labeling beard care products strengthen the loyalty of your clients.

Obviously you need to choose a beard care company that is dependable and has kick-ass products, that way when you use them to white label, every time a client of yours uses your white label product and sees your brand name against it, they will associate it with conveniences and quality and their loyalty to your brand will increase.

My tip to you would be to pay your local beard company a visit, check out their workshop, is it clean, is it sterile, check they have the right insurance and protection, that sort of thing. Don’t be afraid to challenge them on their knowledge, both from an industry and ingredient point of view.

It may also be worthwhile asking them if they have a business resilience and continuity plan if they do it’s a great sign they are prepared for the worst case scenarios and it will give you the confidence you’re in safe hands. Don’t be afraid to ask.

  1. (Private Labeling) White labeling beard care products allow you to take advantage of others established and expert work.

Take us for example, as a fairly young, yet established beard care business, and one that’s been through the 20 week Acorn Enterprise Programme successfully, we are very lucky to have the infrastructure, the knowledge, the contacts, the suppliers, the systems, the insurance policies, the intellectual property protection, the workshop, the focus and expertise to make a product better than you can, no offence.

It’s taken a few years of hard work and sacrifice to get to where we are now. We’ve had to beg to borrow and steal to grow this brand from nothing to having customers in fifteen different countries as well customers spread out over the UK. That’s not us showing off, it’s just to point out how hard it would be to start making your own products in-house from a standing start and gaining the trust of customers who demand quality products.

Save yourself you’re the mammoth task and effort of starting from scratch and tap into your local natural beard care company – Google them, you will be surprised with how many options you have.

  1. White labeling beard care products provide your brand with a refined product.

Our products have already gone through tests, PH level testing, revisions, customer sampling, customer feedback, troubleshooting, and many other fine-tuning processes. In fact, our Basturd AB Whatmore beard oil went through 8 rounds of testing, and after three additional prototypes were tested by the customer assisting with the design and scent, we finally decided on a blend to take to market. Rather than going through the growing pains we suffered, you can use an already-polished product with your name attached.

  1. White labeling beard care products save you time and money.

Creating your own product from scratch might sound like a great idea at some point, but unless you’ve done it (successfully) before, you probably aren’t aware of all the energy and resources that go into creating an original product. As stated above, it’s a painful and costly experience, why waste time reinventing the wheel when you can white label.

Another tip is to spend an hour researching your local natural beard care companies, who runs them, are they likable, does there brand ethos match yours, do they have a good reputation for quality that sort of thing. You will quickly find someone who can help you tap into the industry with minimal effort.

  1. (Private Labeling) White labeling beard care products take the pressure off.

If something goes wrong with a product or a client complains, most third-party white label producers will take responsibility and work on a fix or refund the cost of the product. It’s up to you to choose a quality product from a third-party that offers dependable support, but once you do you can sit back and enjoy offering your clients a great product while someone else does the troubleshooting.

A big tip is to make sure there is a line or two in your agreement that covers this, from the offset make sure you know for certain that the company you choose will take full ownership of product complaints. This will also make sure your relationship won’t be in jeopardy when the unexpected happens as it’s been agreed in advance.

  1. White labeling beard care products is like having an in-house developer, for a fraction of the cost.

Maybe you really like the idea of building your own product, but you probably also like high-profit margins. If you develop your own product, you are looking at investing tons of money and time, with no guarantee of the final product’s return on investment (ROI). When you use a third-party to produce, you’re retroactively paying a local manufacturer to create a product for your business, it’s that simple.

Your own brand beard products via white labeling are worth the cost!

White labeling allows you to stand on the shoulders of talented beard care product developers, provide your clients with excellent products, and maintain a high return on investment – all under the name of your own brand.

I think those are excellent reasons that show white labeling is worth every penny. So if you have a burning desire to tap into the billion pound beard care market but didn’t know how to go about it, hopefully, you do now.

So as I said above, use Google, find out who your closest three beard care companies are and get in touch with them, soon you will have own brand beard products, you won’t regret it.
